A catalog of the major and minor crises we encounter.
Mike’s iPod isn’t charging with Simon’s adapter. Nooooo!(resolved June 15th)- No air conditioning in Tonsai – killer!
- Internet access only after 6pm, when the generators are turned on in Tonsai
- Only 1 ATM in the entire Lao PDR, in the capital, Vientiane. Except we’re in northern Laos, running very low on cash, with no way to get more. We’ve budgeted down to the dollar to make sure we have enough to get out of here. (No more beer at night or iced coffee and fruit shakes in the morning!)
- Simon loses his Blackberry and iPod chargers, a memory card, and his headlamp either in Siem Reap or Phnom Penh — oh god, not the crackberry!
- Update – After some time trying to explain who I was and what I really wanted, hotel in Phnom Penh says they found the chargers, but want no part of shipping them!!!
- Update 2 – Set up a Fed Ex account, scheduled a pick up through Fed Ex Cambodian affiliate, tried to explain to Phnom Penh hotel what is going to happen… we’ll see
- It wasn’t a situation until returning to the U.S., but Mike lost his cell phone in Kuala Lumpur. Now he has to dish out $250 for a new one!
